Yesterday morning was the first really cold morning of the school year. I was feeling bad that my kids were going to have to walk to the bus stop and stand in the cold waiting for the bus. It wasn't cold enough for me to drive them, but I wanted them to be warm. I hurried and got some material scraps from some pumpkins I had made and quickly sewed a rice bag, put rice in it, closed it and heated for the kids to take to the bus stop. It seriously took 5 minutes for me to make 2 of them. All the other kids at the bus stop were freezing, but these kids stayed warm with their new rice packs.
I need to make a few of these. We walk Marissa to school and I think we're all going to need a few to keep us warm.
